For a girl not so interested in mindless love stories that play out unrealistically this film unlike those is not for the faint of heart. Raw and realistic from beginning to end. The film is about two people Dean played by Ryan Gosling(The Note Book, Half-Nelson, Lars And The Real Girl) and Cindy played by Michelle Williams(Wendy and Lucy, Brokeback Mountain). This film is very much about Love and what happens between two people tied together by their choices and family. Its eloquently shot and masterfully set alternating time periods showing us their first moments together to years later. The film is Written & Directed by Derek Cianfrance, Written also Cami Delavigne and Joey Curtis. Every moment in this film speaks a truth, watch and listen it’s very much worth it.
This film also has some great music, some of which was written by star Ryan Gosling (his band Dead Man’s Bones is worth checking out), soundtrack also features The Dirtbombs, Dept. of Eagles and is mostly composed and performed by indie-darlings Grizzly Bear.
