Check out the new video It’s Not My Party by Diamond Rings. Released on Diamond Rings first album ‘Special Affections’. The video in contrast to DR’s other fun, DIY, dance videos this video’s theme has a darker tone. Much like the song the subject matter is that of love and heartbreak. John O, first appears in heels and goes from party to party eventually ending the night bruised in more ways than one. My favourite part is where it’s just John O playing piano, it comes across beautifully.

After touring with Robyn, Diamond Rings is touring with Ps I Love You. Playing March 11th at The Biltmore Cabaret in Vancouver BC.

As a music appreciator I always have my peripherals open for new musical fascinations. Currently Diamond Rings an act featuring a glam meets suburban boy John O has caught my attention. His upcoming show in Vancouver at The Biltmore Cabaret with Winnie Cooper DJs, Humans, Dbl Dragon and Teen Daze has been something to look forward to for myself. First reading about them in Exclaim and then reading about Diamond Rings in BeatRoute Magazine, and of course the online force of Winnie Cooper didn’t solidify any affection for Diamond Rings. For me it was watching the first video ‘All Yr Songs’ from Diamond Rings album titled ‘Special Affections’ is what intrigued me. It was the plainly honest and personal songs yet very catchy hooks combined with glittery eye-makeup and fun DIY videos did it.

Diamond Rings has played in Vancouver earlier this year at Olio Festival after party put on by No More Strangers and BeatRoute Magazine. Check out the fun over at Winnie Cooper.net
